I put a post like this on a forum after seeing alot of topics asking questions so ive decided to hardlink this on my blog for people who wish to get into this industry.
So lots of people asking about adult programs or legal aspects, shall i go white label? whats the best program? is there an Adult Adsense? etc etc
So i have decided to open up a topic on this, ok all what i put in here are just my views and my teams opinions.
Background on Me
I am a director for SAEG (Safe Adult Entertainment Group) SAEG and we are a registered charity and company in the UK dedicated to making the internet a clean, safe and fun place for adults. We also have a network of over 40 Adult sites promoting top converting programs, also teaching new adult webmasters the right way in the industry.
Why?
well as you know there are so many companies out there scamming with false links leading to illegal material and in turn the adult surfer clicks on these and they get virus's, degrading illegal porn on there machines. Or theres affiliate programs which are setup by con men using young adult webmasters to use their false programs promising huge payouts only to run with any sales they bring them (this happens alot)
Ok back to the reason for my post
The Adult industry is an area where if you do not do it properly and cover your buts with the right compliance and laws you could get yourself in to alot of trouble. Its not like any standard website where you can sign up to a program and make money. In fact the Adult industry is a haven of making lots of money so isnt it better to do this knowing you are doing this legally?
What makes it legal?
ALL adult sites have to have a 18 USC 2257 compliance notice. So not many people realise this every single Adult Affiliate program you join you have to add the legal representation to your own 18 USC 2257 compliance notice. You can not just join loads of programs stick all the banners and pictures, videos etc on your site and sit back waiting to make tons of cash.. Well you could but your opening yourself up for investigation. Heres an example of a typical compliance
So heres a simple excerise to learn:
Every Adult Program you join if you add any of there material copy the registered office which holds the actors/models etc legal documents to your compliance notice. If you wish to see an example of what one can look like then check the one out above. If you do this then your covered from a legal standpoint also another key thing to do is RTA (http://www.rtalabel.org) make sure your site holds the restricted to adults meta code this enables search engines to know your site is adult related. Our company takes it a step futher and gives sites a MOT checking everything this is a pay service but its a good read anyways if you can not afford this SAEG
Ok Legal stuff aside you guys want to know about Adult Affiliates
Right as most of you have seen theres thousands of them out their and a good 70% of them are poor they pretty much use adult webmasters to send them free traffic hense why they say on some of them 15% of sale you will earn each customer now alot of these standard programs advertising generic pictures, videos you seriously will need to send them thousands of visitors before you get a conversion so all your doing is helping them with backlinks and SEO.
Remember this Rule Quality over Quauntity!!
Who cares if a program has zillions of pictures and videos if they dont convert wants the point? you wont earn and money from them.
So take your time and follow this check list when looking at new affiliate programs.
Affiliate Checklist
1. Look for Niche content if you want to design a site about i.e asians always dedicate to a topic never sidetrack.
2. When Developing stick to a couple of programs per site.. Use any more your cutting your conversion by spamming programs and its easy to track.
3. USe Google Analytics on every page you design to check your affiliate traffic (whats hot and whats not)
4. Is the Affilate program active? i.e are they updating constantly.. this is key!!!
5. Do they have an active forum.. again key share tactics and learn from other webmasters on that program.
6. Do they allow Campaigns? again you need to track what site got the sale!! always create a campain for each site you make.
7. Do they have a 18 USC compliance.. if they dont NEVER use them.
8. Check out the sites credit card authorisation is it a good one? i.e ccbill etc if its not this alone puts off people from spending money with a site.
9. Always make sure the payout is 30%+ and they also have Webmaster Referral program.
10. Check the alexa etc of the programs the affiliate is promoting if its popular then its shows a good customer base.
Ok theres some pointers when planning to use an affiliate program and what the jargon means, lets talk about types now.
[B]What are the types of program and how do i make money?[/B]
1. REV (Revshare)
Ok probably the best way of making money.. let me explain. When a customer joins and you are using Revshare via your affiliate program tool. Everytime that person rejoins or spends more money with the site they signed up to under your affiliate link you get paid!!!!! not only that on most programs on a Revshare that customer is yours for up to 90 days. So think about the money you can make from Revshare.. especially in webcam programs.. People do get hooked or fall in love with a girl/guy etc.
2. PTJ or Paid to Join
This one you get an intial payout alot higher than a revshare but thats it if that same customer spends money again you do not get any cut from it. This type of program is probably better on picture sites.. Because experience has shown us if a customer joins a picture site they will once look at everything move on spend on another site. Unless its a site like Adultfriendfinder, Alt, then customers are normally repeat so better to go Revshare.
3. Webmaster Referral.
Ok you will always find on so many forums people planting links why? because they want you to sign up under there affiliation. The reason is they get a cut.. gone are the days you got money instantly for brining a new webmaster to the program now its more like if a new webmaster signs up under your link you get a minimum (depending on program) 10% share of everything they make for a certain amount of time, some programs give you this for life. So sure its a great way of making extra money and one we have been extremely successful with the difference is we encourage our webmasters to contact us so we can help them make money.
Example: adult webmasters has affiliate webmaster link.. 40+ adult webmasters sign up under that link the webmaster with the link now not only has his payouts from his programs.. he also has the income of 40+ other webmasters so if each of them make a sale in one month at 10% share thats 40x10% of the sale. See how much income you can make???
4. What is a White Label?
Ok white label is a way a webmaster can use his domain do be a replica of the main site he wants to promote. Benefits are you dont need web design skills so its a instant site in a bag, you apply if they accept your domain then you can upload a logo, change colours, texts and the launch via there tools. Only thing you will need to do is create a Cname or change the A records in your DNS where your domain is registered to the IP address they assign you for your White Label site. Example site is White Label Site downsides: Theres alot of white label sites out there via these companies and SEO is affected because again they are seen a replica's of the one true site. Yet they are handy if you dont have designs skills own a good traffic adult domain name and want to earn better money than parking.

Adsense on Adult Sites???
Sorry thats a nope, Google will not allow this and if you get caught well you could loose any SEO you put into that site so its really not worth the gamble. But!!! all is not lost, there are programs out there that are the same as google adsense. This one which doesnt do webmaster affiliate so i will post it can earn you some good money if you have space and you want to earn money from PPC (pay per click) http://www.blacklabelads.com/ its a good program and they pay out on time. There is another and i love this program and run it on all our sites and make very good money out of ppc Juicy Ads this one is worth signing up to helps with traffic and you get paid per click.
