Thank you for visiting this blog, below is an update on some of the questions we get asked a lot on listed.co.in via email so we have compiled the questions and given some answers so crack open a coke and hopefully the following will give you a bit more insight on how well the indian domain market is doing.
Ok here we are another year and some great sales across the board with .in and .co.in so is time people should start to let their indian domains go with offers they receive?
Not Yet!!
India is booming, more and more businesses and individuals are coming online daily so if you can hold out then its not quite the time to sell. Through our affiliations with resellers.co.in and being a part owner of listed.co.in the traffic and sales are increasing but the sales are really coming from domainers fishing for the long term investments. So all you domainers who are holding onto good indian domains under the extension .in and .co.in hold out is our advice.
How long?
Well we forsee that the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008 to be the start of the Rush for indian domains.. you will also see some big sales around that time as more people realise how big this market will be.
what is better in or .co.in. 2005 and 2006 showed it to be the .co.in?
Thus far in 2007 its still the .co.in hands down that is the market leader in India as per a pole on Radio Mumbai in India on their Tech session the general feel across India is the same.. Businesses are more attracted by the .co.in becuase its been around longer and also the .in has a very western feel to it. the .in extension has been called a joke by many businesses in india basically becuase it can follow a hack term.. Like club.in, walk.in etc. This though in the west is one of the key attractions of the .in domain.
Traffic on listed.co.in has shown the majority of people looking at .co.in are coming from IP addresses assigned to india where as the .in has more traffic from the USA, United Kingdom and Australia.
If .co.in is so popular why are nearly all the LLL.in taken and not LLL.co.in?
Again thats because of the domain collector, as soon as the .in was announced one of the first things you see and it happens with all new extensions is the flood of LLL registrations. The high value of LLL.com sales has caused this in all extensions. People are hoping to cash in on the success of a similar style sale. We are not saying this is a bad thing but its become the new norm with domaining. What is does do though is affect the statistics of domains registered by end users. With more and more domainers out thier now registering tons of domains.. If we are not careful it could turn into sellers selling to other sellings at basement prices instead of the end user.
Should I develop my indian domains or park them and if so where?
This question is down to the individual and what they want out of their domains. If you have a domain pretty much unique in the market then get them developing shoes on and corner that market before someone else does. If you are purely in this to register names and sell them for a profit but fancy making some money at the same time then park them. Or develop them with some good affiliation and adsense type programs on them.. If you take this route though make sure your website copy.. is well written and contains good keyword related material to your domain. DO NOT.. make its obvious its a mini-site purely for making adsense revenue.
If you decide to park your names then namedrive.com and sedo.com are 2 extremely professional parking programs that take indian domains and a lot of people make good money via them. It is also a good idea to list your names at listed.co.in which is a free service unless you wish as the others offer featured listings to get your names a much better exposure on the Internet..
Where can i register .in and .co.in names?
There are a few companies out there that give this service like whizz.in and directnic.com but the guys at resellers.co.in who are associated with listed.co.in are an extremely professional bunch with the owner being very active on the domain forums so support is top notch.
More news next month on this so subscribe to this post to here about all the top .in and .co.in sales.
